Member of – SWAVA (South West Agricultural Valuers Association); ALA (Agricultural Law Association).
Karen originally hails from Farnham, Surrey but with family ties to Scotland and happy holidays memories of Dumfries & Galloway she chose to move to the area to complete her secondary education and then went on to study Law at Edinburgh University.
Karen brings a wealth of experience to the business with her practice areas to date being in:
Agricultural Law, Conveyencing, Wills, Power of Attorney & Executries
Law and agriculture can both be perceived as male dominated areas however, Karen, feels challenged to change that perception. She believes honesty, trust and a good relationship with her clients is paramount and aims to make the process as user friendly as possible, providing the guidance necessary for clients to make the best decisions within the context of their own lives.
Karen has a young family and also runs a farming business in partnership with her husband and was involved in the successful transition of the family farm from tenant farm to owner occupied. She loves rural living and the benefits it brings to family life but strongly believes that living rurally should not be at the expense of accessing quality legal services.
Between work, farm and a young family Karen has limited time for hobbies yet is involved in the school PTA and treasurer of her son’s nursery. When any ‘free’ time is available Karen enjoys cooking & baking for family and friends, walks with her dog around the family farm and indulging her creative side in home crafts and painting.
